Kamminga dominates the 2020 Dutch Inline Championships Winning 5 Titles

Many of the best Dutch inline speed skaters competed at the 2020 Dutch Inline Championships in Heerenveen, and female inline speed skating star, Manon Kamminga was dominant both on the road and the track. She was nearly perfect, taking 5 of 6 inline championship titles, and just missing a sixth championship title with a second place finish in the 500 meter race.

Kamminga won her 27th points race and 26th one lap national title in dominant fashion, inching closer to breaking the record held by Elma de Vries, who sits at 33 inline titles. Kamminga earned victories in the one lap and points race on the road, while grabbing gold in the 1000 meters, points race, and elimination race on the track.

While Kamminga was a favorite to do well this year, her winning 5 out of 6 of the championship race events still comes as a nice surprise. “I don’t know if I have ever won five in the same year before, but it feels really good. As always.”

Kamminga had not competed on the road or track for a few years, and her coaching duties keeping her mostly on the sidelines at national competitions. “I saw very nice competitions with the ladies this year, which made it tickle again”, she says. “I had no idea how I would be doing, but through those races I knew who to watch out for and how to race. I could take advantage of that.”

Kamminga won the one lap (road) and the points race on the road. She also won the 1000 meters, points race, and elimination race on the track. The results for the races she won are listed below.
